Installation method of stainless steel spiral hoist
Stainless steel screw elevator (also known as screw conveyor or screw feeder) is mainly used for vertical or inclined conveying of powdery, granular or small materials, and is suitable for industries such as food, chemical, pharmaceutical, etc. The installation method directly affects the stability and lifespan of the equipment operation. The following are detailed installation steps and precautions.
1、 Preparation before installation
Check equipment and accessories
Check whether the equipment model, spiral diameter, length, motor power, etc. meet the requirements.
Check whether the spiral blades, drive device, support frame, inlet and outlet and other components are intact, without deformation or damage.
Determine installation location
The foundation needs to be flat and sturdy (concrete or steel structure), able to withstand the vibration and load during equipment operation.
Reserve sufficient space for operation and maintenance (recommended to be ≥ 0.8m on both sides and ≥ 1m on the top).
Prepare tools
Level, wrench, screwdriver, welding machine (if welding is required for fixation), lifting equipment (for hoisting).
2、 Installation steps
1. Basic fixation
Pre embed anchor bolts or weld support brackets at the installation location to ensure the foundation is level (calibrated with a spirit level).
If the ground is uneven, shims can be added for adjustment to avoid unstable operation caused by equipment tilting.
2. Assemble the spiral body
Segmented spiral:
Connect each section of spiral pipe in the order of the factory serial number, add sealing gaskets at the flange joints, and tighten the bolts.
Ensure smooth docking of spiral blades to avoid misalignment causing jamming or wear.
Integral spiral:
Lift directly to the installation position, adjust the level and fix it.
3. Install the driving device
Connect the reduction motor or gearbox to the screw shaft, ensuring that the coupling is aligned (radial deviation ≤ 0.1mm).
Secure the motor base and tighten the transmission chain or belt (if applicable).
4. Import and export docking
The feed inlet (bottom) is connected to upstream equipment (such as silos and conveyor belts) to ensure smooth material entry.
Connect the discharge port (top) to downstream equipment (such as packaging machines and mixers), and install flexible joints if necessary to reduce vibration transmission.
5. Support and sealing
Install hanging bearings (anti swing) in the middle or longer section of the screw machine, and lubricate the bearings regularly.
Check the sealing of all connections (such as flanges and inspection ports) to prevent dust leakage.
6. Electrical wiring and debugging
Connect the motor according to the nameplate requirements (380V/220V) and install an overload protection device.
Perform a jog test run and observe whether the spiral rotation direction is correct (counterclockwise or clockwise, depending on the design).
Run without load for 10-15 minutes and check for any abnormal noise, vibration, or heating.
