Preparation before installation of vacuum rake dryer
The installation of a vacuum rake dryer is a systematic project, and sufficient preparation work can effectively avoid delays, damages, and even safety accidents during the installation process. The preparation work requires close cooperation between the equipment user (Party A) and the equipment supplier (Party B), which can be mainly divided into the following four aspects:
1、 Technical documentation and personnel preparation
This is the blueprint that guides all subsequent work.
Drawing review and familiarity:
Basic drawing: Obtain and have the civil engineering department review the equipment foundation drawing to confirm the dimensions, elevation, position, and specifications of the foundation's embedded parts (anchor bolts, grounding plates, etc.).
Layout: Familiarize yourself with the overall layout of the equipment in the workshop, plan the equipment placement route, and ensure sufficient space for lifting, operation, and future maintenance.
Interface diagram: Clearly define the positions, specifications, and directions of all interfaces between equipment and utilities, including:
Vacuum system interface
Heating medium (steam/thermal oil) inlet and outlet
Cooling water inlet and outlet (for shaft seals, vacuum pumps, etc.)
power interface
Compressed air interface
Dust removal or exhaust gas treatment interface
Personnel training and division of responsibilities:
Designated Project Manager: Responsible for overall coordination and liaising with suppliers.
Establish an installation team: including equipment administrators, electricians, plumbers, welders, and operators. Ensure that key personnel (especially future equipment operators and maintenance personnel) are familiar with equipment drawings and instructions in advance.
Arrange supplier guidance: Confirm with the supplier the time for their technical personnel to provide on-site guidance for installation and commissioning, and make arrangements for reception and cooperation in advance.
2、 Site and infrastructure preparation
This is the foundation of physical installation and must be completed strictly according to the drawing requirements.
Equipment foundation:
Strength and maintenance: The foundation must be poured with concrete and have sufficient maintenance period (usually 28 days or more) to ensure that it reaches the design strength, has a smooth surface, no cracks, and no oil stains.
Position and elevation: Use tools such as a level to strictly check the centerline, elevation, and levelness of the foundation, and the error must be within the allowable range on the drawing.
Embedded parts: Check the position, exposed length, and thread protection of embedded parts such as anchor bolts and grounding devices to ensure accuracy.
Installation space and channels:
Space reservation: Ensure that there is sufficient space around the device (recommended to be at least 1 meter or more) for:
Install and remove the mixing blade (rake teeth) and main shaft seal.
Connect pipes and cables.
Daily operation, observation, and post maintenance.
Lifting channel: Clean all channels from the workshop gate to the equipment foundation. Ensure smooth passage, sufficient ground load-bearing capacity, and prepare necessary lifting equipment (such as cranes, forklifts, and hoists), whose lifting capacity must be greater than the maximum individual weight of the dryer.
Public engineering facilities are in place:
Vacuum system: Vacuum pipelines (usually stainless steel or pressure resistant pipelines) have been laid near the interface, and suitable seals and valves have been prepared.
Heating system:
Steam: Ensure that the steam pressure and temperature meet the requirements, the pipeline is insulated, and equipped with drain valves, pressure reducing valves, and shut-off valves.
Thermal oil: The thermal oil furnace and circulation system are in place, the pipeline is connected to the interface, and high-temperature protection is in place.
Cooling water system: The cooling water pipelines prepared for mechanical seals and vacuum pumps have been connected, and the water pressure, flow rate, and temperature meet the requirements.
Power system: The power supply (380V) and control power supply (220V) have been installed at the interface of the electrical control cabinet according to the equipment power and wiring diagram requirements. Be sure to ensure proper grounding!
Compressed air: The pipeline is connected, the air source is dry, clean, and the pressure is stable.
3、 Equipment and tool preparation
Equipment unboxing and acceptance:
On site unboxing: Conduct a joint unboxing inspection in the presence of the supplier representative.
Checklist: Count all components, spare parts, and special tools according to the packing list to ensure that there are no missing items.
Appearance inspection: Carefully inspect the host and accessories for any deformation, damage, or rust caused during transportation. Focus on inspecting precision or vulnerable components such as mixing blades, inner walls, and sight glasses.
Preparation of tools and consumables:
Lifting tools: cranes, hoists, wire ropes, lifting belts, etc.
Positioning tools: spirit level, dial gauge, tape measure, plumb bob, etc.
Assembly tools: complete set of wrenches, sockets, hydraulic wrenches (if required), torque wrenches (for key bolts).
Connection consumables: pipeline sealing materials (such as PTFE gaskets, metal wrap gaskets), welding rods, raw material tapes, etc.
4、 Safety and Compliance Preparation
Safety plan:
Develop detailed safety regulations for lifting operations and delineate the work area.
Prepare necessary safety protective equipment: safety helmets, safety shoes, gloves, etc.
Check the safety of all tools and equipment.
Compliance check:
Confirm that the installation of the equipment complies with local safety regulations for pressure vessels (if the dryer jacket belongs to the category of pressure vessels).
Ensure that all electrical installations comply with explosion-proof requirements (if used in explosion-proof areas).
